Nestled in Western North Carolina, East Sylva Flower Farm is rooted in a deep respect for nature. We grow unique, seasonal flowers using organic and sustainable practices, hoping our locally grown blooms add a little extra beauty to your world.
OUR TEAM
East Sylva Flower Farm is a small, family-run farm. Our flower growing team includes myself, Ellen Lohmeyer, along with my husband, Gary Morehouse. We grow all of our flowers from seed using organic practices with support from my parents, our daughter Mae, and dog Frankie.
OUR STORY
Our story begins in 2003 when we purchased our home in Sylva, NC. We loved spending our weekends gardening and landscaping our small property. It was a simple hobby that we enjoyed, allowing us to spend time in nature and beautifying our property.
Our story took an exciting turn with the birth of our daughter in 2019, followed shortly by the pandemic shutdown. These events had us refocusing on the life we wished to live and the values we wanted to share with our daughter. Thus, East Sylva Flower Farm was born by combining our love of flowers and nature along with the desire to be more financially self-sufficient. These two self taught gardeners were ready to evolve into two self taught, first generation farmers.
East Sylva Flower Farm has grown with the help of our family. Each year brings about new sets of challenges, as well as opportunities to learn and grow. We now farm on approximately 3 acres of family land in two locations in Jackson County and Haywood County in North Carolina

From tulips, fancy daffodils and ranunculus in early spring, to the heat loving, vibrant annuals of summer and fall–we have you covered!
We enjoy growing unique flowers that people may have not seen before. Each season, we try out new varieties of annuals or add in unusual, interesting perennials to our permanent flower beds.
As the season unfolds, you'll always discover new blooms popping into our market bouquets. The ever-changing variety of textures and colors keep things exciting and fresh for ourselves and our customers.
OUR ORGANIC FARMING METHODS
& ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
At East Sylva Flower Farm, we focus on growing beautiful blooms using all-natural and organic practices. Our belief is that growing flowers and farming with this focus in mind is the best way to care for the land, the plants and the pollinators that bring our fields to life.
We continue to build the health of our farm’s soil by adding organic matter through use of cover crops and composting. We rotate our crops and certified organic products for pest and fungicide control when needed. This means you can feel good about bringing our flowers into your home or event, knowing they're safe for everyone to enjoy.
